"WEINER PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT While there are many difficult problems with safety in this plant, none is more obvious and correctable than the total indifference on both management and employees part to the wearing of personal protection such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes. As a result, we are experiencing an increase in eye injuries. The rules in this plant are as follows: 1. All employees will wear eye protection while in manufacturing areas. 2. Employees working in high noise areas will wear hearing protection. 3. Employees working in manufacturing and lab areas will wear safety shoes. Enforcement of these rules is the responsibility of all managers and supervisors throughout the plant, not just first line super visors. I shall personally take employees off their job if they are not complying with these rules. The attached bulletin board notice, posted on OctobeT 4, 1984 covers the points.
