Sanders DATE September 5, 1975 SUBJECT Resolving of Questions c.n the Tri-Ethane VDC Still Vent Recovery Project A meeting was held at i :30 p.m., September 4, 1975 to discuss the questions raised in the Loss Preventiqn^Repqrt dated June 23, 1975. Participants in this meeting were: R. fC Lyhcft,' G. F. Bedenbaugh, N. O- Bodden, J. M. Bowman, R. H. Miller, C. A. Muery, J. D. Hays <-..d R. E. Sanders. After discussion, it was decided that the following will be recommended to the Operations Review Committee: 1. One additional vapor detector will be installed in the vicinity of the pumps and phase separator overflow. Exact location to be selected by C. A. Muery and R. H. Miller. 2. There was insufficient information on the use of-grounding rings in non-conductive piping for a decision on the effectiveness of these rings. R. E. Sanders to investigate. 3. There was agreement that the internal overpressure relief devices in the Lapp pumps were sufficient. R. E. Sanders to work with the operations teams and the SRV inspector in a method to insure proof testing. 4. Operations to handle copper chloride catalyst purchases. Significant comments made on the so named "resolved questions" include: 1. E. M. Gorton will be contacted on the status of the tests on the solubility of copper salts in the organic product. 2. The operations manual revision by J. M. Bowman is out for approval. 3. A bayonet heater-cooler is on order for the reactor. 4. Operations will review the behavior of the Lapp pump in the event of loss of instrument air. 5. The pulsation surge bottle damper concept on the Lapp pump will be revived. It had been shelved.
