Shelton subject Vinyl Chloride Monitoring Mr. Frantz: For a period of one month beginning June 22, 1974 through July 21, 1974, data from the vinyl chloride monitor in Building 174 was compiled and analyzed. Due to malfunctions with the VFA analyzer, only fourteen days of monitoring were observed with a total of 443 readings. From the data listed in Table I, it is concluded that: 1. Point 15, Building 119, south side, northwest of ST, is the most severe location. It exceeds 50 ppm 52 times and has an average concentration of 21.9 ppm. 2. Point 13, Building 119, compressor room, exceeds 50 ppm on 50 occasions and has an average concentration of 27. 6 ppm. 3. Since the next highest average concentration of vinyl chloride is only 9.4 ppm and points 13 and 15 together account for nearly half (45. 5%) of the total number of readings above 50 ppm, these two locations deserve the foremost attention.
