Gonzalezr Order and Shipping Department re have received copy of a release for the handling of Ethyl fluid signed by the Amecco Chemicals, Inc. of Rochester, New York. Since this has been stamped with the laboratory stamp, it is indicated that in all probability a can or more of fluid has been presented to this company for experimental purposes. The Safety Department has absolutely no record of the facilities available for the handling of fluid by this company and as it is our practice to investigate not only the equipment (hoods, fans, etc.) but the individual to whom the fluid is sent, we would, very much like to have some information as to v;ho supplied the fluid and for what reason. We then propose to have one of our Safety Engineers contact the proper individuals at Amecco Chemicals, Inc. to determine whether they are in a position to properly handle fluid. Incidentally, I don't know whether Detroit is follow ing the practice that we have used on all such orders, but requests for fluid should certainly be referred to the Safety Department an^ have its approval before deliveries are made.
