FYI, a reply from Aimee. Looks like BLM funding may not work out. Are you available tomorrow from around 10 AM until perhaps 2 PM to take part in a call to address some of their particular questions (an example below)? Thanks...

Hi Murray and Walter:
Dee and I spoke with Bud Cribley and Ted Murphy from the State BLM office this afternoon. Ted suggested last Friday BLM may have some funds to help make up the FY17 gap for the NPRA work, but he has since retracted that idea. During our discussions, BLM had several questions around the budget numbers -- why they are so high for the NPRA -- and in particular what the state DGGS would be doing for $500K. They were not aware of any new permits and wondering from that perspective as well about what is planned this summer.
I offered to try to put together a call so we could coordinate. I would imagine Dave H should be on to answer these more detailed questions. Do you think we can schedule something Wednesday or Thursday?
Thanks, Aimee

Yes, I have a conference call scheduled at 9:00 but am otherwise available.
It appears that Aimee is confusing NPRA and ANWR. Our field work this summer is focused mainly on ANWR (that is where the permit issue with the Refuge management, which is FWS, remains). The small amount of work we hope to include related to NPRA is all outside NPRA on state lands.

Thanks. I suspect there's lots of other things that may be confused as well, that's why it would be good to get on a call and make sure we're all singing from the same page. I'll keep you posted...

Aimee, thanks for your note and sorry to hear that the potential for BLM funding didn't pan out.
Would tomorrow (Wednesday) work for a meeting? Murray's open from 10 AM until 2 PM Eastern, and Dave Houseknecht and I can meet anytime during that interval as well. We can also answer any questions you might have about detailed assessment work. Just let us know what time works best for you; thanks.
Walter

Thanks, Walter! I'll check with BLM, but I'm guessing something around 1p Eastern would work best.
