I have been giving out the booklets today as the Dominion Oil Company has just started to handle Ethyl Gasoline and their station operators have no information. One of the operators at the Harvey System station has either an eruption on his arm or blood trouble. He has the idea that handling Ethyl Gasoline has partially caused this. I believe he would feel much better if I had an analysis made of his blood and could assure him that he had no trace of lead. I told him that none of the other operators had any trouble but he has a cut on his hand and thinks this may have made him more sus ceptible. Should I have a smear taken? My supply of warning signs has run low. I will have enough to last me until I reach Yfeshington, Saturday but I would like to have more before starting down the Valley. We have had perhaps three or fourAimpor tant cases during the past year, of filling station operators laboring under the thought that Ethyl Gasoline had aggravated some sore or cut on their hands or arms* W always make it a point to examine such, as well as other complaints that might be made, and in every instance not only convinced ours elfes but the parties making the complaint, that ETHYL was not responsible. :: About everybody knows that ordinary gasoline coming in contact sore or leas frequently with cuts or sores on an operator*s or mechanic* 5 hands would occasionally cause sore or less serious conditions to develop, although most of them are of a fairly trivial nature. Complaints of this character are uniformly re ferred by this office to Dr. Kehoe who as y ou know is our Chief Medical Adviser. He will write you directly about this matter and make such suggestions for handling it as he thinks the situa tion warrants* Please be guided strictly by his advice.
