Barn & Roof Paint and Barn & Fence Paint will be discontinued as stocks are depleted in each U. S. Sales Division. P&L Farm & Ranch Paints are similar to Vapex House Paint in composition, but because of cost considerations, will probably have a shorter life span. They contain no lead pigment or mercurial fungicides which might be harmful to livestock. Laboratory tests show that P&L Farm & Ranch Paint compares very favorably with competitive latex barn paints. P&L Farm & Ranch Paint White was field-tested as GZ1130; Hereford Red as GZ353* P&L Farm & Ranch Paint can be applied by brush, spray, or roller, but spraying or rolling on a chalky surface can result in poor adhesion and peeling. They can be used self-primed on most surfaces but on bleeding wood, such as cedar or redwood, Vapex House Paint Exterior Primer lj.5 White should be used as the first coat to minimize staining, or P&L House Paint Exterior Primer 305 White, if the wood might be chewed by livestock.
