Corporation, Evendale, Ohio to check conditions under which the claimant had worked. This Division has 25 hourly employees, and 5 office personnel. The company installs industrial insulation containing fiber glass and hydrous calcium silicate ("KAYLO"), asbestos-free. According to company records and other sources noted, the claimant's experience is as follows: Started 3-6-74 Last day 5-3-74 The claimant was a journeyman insulator (journeyman asbestos worker) hired out of Local #8, Asbestos Workers Union, 1015 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a traveler member of another union Local #44, Asbestos Workers, Teamsters Hall, 555 E. Rich Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215. A telephone call to William T. Burkhalter, Business Agent for this union, indicated that the claimant had worked for Service Products Inc., Earl E. Bright, Inc., Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp., and probably most of the insulation installing companies in the work area. No record of dates was obtainable here. However, telephone calls to Service Products Inc. (2 Divisions; Buildings; Insulation, since about 1971) and to Earl E. Bright, Inc., provided the following: Employment history at Earl E. Employment from 8-69 thru 8-72 is unknown. His work was essentially outdoors, in field service at various locations for Owens-Co'rning Fiberglas Corp. , Construction -Services Division. There was no other record at this company of additional or prior employment. All materials handled by the Construction Services Division are now asbestos free, or nil content. None containing asbestos have been used nor stored after 1-1-73. A respirator, USBM and/or NIOSH approved, was supplied. There was no medical examination upon hiring. Annual exami nations were offered but refused universally by all members of the union. % The claimant worked with non-asbestos insulation materials while with Construction Services Division, Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation. A history of long employment as an asbestos worker implies significant exposure to asbestos and other insulation materials. 3 The claimant had industrial exposure to asbestos fibers while installing insulation for various companies for a period of approximately 16 years.
