C. 20006 Dear Sir and Brother: I have received your latter of June 10 concerning the situation in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania and concur that as a first step a meeting should be held with representation from our Local Union 1019. The Pittsburgh-Coming operation In Port Allegany was serviced for many years by Ivan T. Uncapher, who at that time was a Field Representative of our International Union. In our last convention Mr. Uncap!fir was elected to the position of Secretary-Treasurer of tha International Union. I am requesting that he contact you and our local union officers In Port Allegany for the purpose of arranging an initial meeting. X will depend on you two men deciding on who should be In attendance. My thinking would be that it might be advisable to hav some medical lauthority present for Che workers directly involved may not be aware of the seriousness of the health hazard tlv.L many of thorn have been exposed to* I will be away from Che office several weeks beginning about the middle of July, engaged in major contract negotiations.
