Your email is unfortunately a mischaracterization, no one committed to taking the approach you describe below. The last time we spoke, I told you that we needed to have a meeting with career technical staff who are working on the issue to understand the history of the issue and to confer internally with our colleagues. That meeting culminated in a number of technical and statutory issues being raised by our career staff and we decided that a follow-up meeting between your representatives and our career technical staff (David Cozzie and Peter Tsarigotis) would be prudent. At this time, we are not taking any action to extend compliance dates. If you are interested in the meeting with our technical staff in OAR I will facilitate and attend. When you called me a couple of weeks back I was at home and not able to take notes. I am sorry to do this, but I wanted to confirm the approach the agency had decided to take to this issue. Please refresh my recollection, but I thought I heard you say that you were going to extend the compliance date in the FIP and then develop and issue a new regulation for SRIs.
