I also have received your masterful summary which is very thorough; and I am in total agreement on all the points mentioned. I do believe that we will have to know about what, if any, problems we "have with asbestos in the Du Pont Company before we plan any expensive research. I am hopeful that my. memo to all physicians will give us some needed information on this point. I am very happy that you are moving along with Dr. Neeld on the pulmonary program. I will stress that this will need to be simple, expedient, and accurate for I feel that long^delayed testing will fall by the wayside. I am looking to Charlie and you to do whatever is necessary to institute it, keeping me apprised as to progress. Charlie and I talked about any help we may get from Ohio State where this has been done in skilled hands. I am sure a visit with you and Charlie here would be profitable, if you agree. I share with you encouragement concerning joint studies between the Haskell Laboratory, Sidney Pell's group, and the plants; and I can foresee no reason where this should not be initiated in the very beginning.
