DIETZ ENGINEERING MANAGER PRODUCTION DIVISION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT REQUEST FOR FUNDS .______ ANNUAL ACCOUNTS FOR C&P All 1984 Annual Accounts of Engineering Department Request for Funds are to be authorized and returned to Louviers by December 1, 1983. Before starting, please reread DEL-7, Engineering Charges to Cost, and follow it closely. Start annual accounts promptly, following the instructions outlined: 1. Review the 1983 Annual Accounts shown in DC-5572 (attached for your Plant). Remember, all 1983 Annual Accounts will be cancelled as of December 21, 1983. Overruns of all accounts exceeding 110X of authorization will be billed to the Engineering Department. We again emphasize that we are as interested in control of Annual Accounts as we are for regular accounts. Requests of less than $1000. Annual Accounts are normally for work that is repetitive in need, studies we request on a continuing basis, the Departmental share for work done regularly on a Company basis, and to cover ESD field engineers. If a problem Is identified within an Annual Account where the study cost is estimated over $5000, a separate specific study EWR should be authorized. N 30667 SEE ATTACHED DISTRIBUTION SHEET Page 2 3. Attached are the 1984 Engineering Department Annual Account recommendations. In some cases, the amounts are different from last year. Be sure you understand and agree with any changes. 4. All plants will prepare their own Annual Accounts and include an Exhibit B of the DEL (Supplemental Form) with each account. The only accounts to be initiated at Louviers will be the Wilmington accounts and the ESD field engineer accounts. For those plants with field engineers, one of the engineers is designated to assist with the Annual Accounts. Please use him. 5. By November 1, send the DEO preliminary copies of the 1984 Annual Accounts on the regular Engineering Department Request for Funds Form EN-3278. Have the final Bequest forms, authorized or ready for Wilmington authorization (see item 7), in to the DEO by November 21. To fill out the forms: . Start the title in all cases with 1984, This flags an Annual Account. Keep the description simple, but definitive. One-line explanations will not be adequate. The scope of coverage must be defined. , The amount authorized and spent to date for 1983 for the same purpose shall be shown for each account. Also state amount included for this purpose in the 1984 Financial forecasts. Explain differences, . List as many accounts as desired on a page. The authorization level needed is that of the largest job on the page, not the page total. Keep accounts over $25M on separate pages from those under. Do not mix R&D accounts with Production accounts. . Code and subcode accounts before forwarding for authorization. 6. If there are questions about any accounts, call tfie appropriate ESD Field Section Supervisor, either D. A. Byers, 366-3489, or J. A. Tallman, 366-6251. For Production accounts, obtain authorization on the plant if plant authorization level is adequate. If not adequate, show approval by plant management and forward to the Departmental Engineer's Office which will route the request for authorization. . For RAD Annual Accounts (including design groups if now within RAD), local approval is to be obtained and the copies forwarded to the Departmental Engineer's Office which will route the request for authorization by Wilmington RAD. 8. After authorization, all Annual Accounts will return to the Departmental Engineer's Office for recording before being sent to Louviers.
