Kitzmiller, Dear Dr. Kitzmiller: Enclosed is cory of. letter received from Hr. R. J. Fellingham, General Attorney for the Standard Oil Company (Indiana), whos^off^eiaatO^^J^ALchigan Avenue, Chicago, relative to the death on July 15th, whose home is near Coopersville, Michigan, and also the present condition of Accompanying his letter was a duplicate certificate of death which was made out by Dr. A. E. Stickley of Coopersville dated the 16th of July. In it Dr. Stickley certifies that he attended the deceased from June 5th, 1928 to July 15th, 1928, and that the cause of death was "cardiac asthma with anemia" and contributory cause was "inhalation carbon monoxide gas". It will be very much appreciated if you v/ill immediately get in communication with Mr. Fellingham and make such arrangements as you and he may mutually agree upon 'with respect to the following up of this matter. It may be that Hr. Fellingham will put you in touch with their doctor and that some arrangement might be made, if it is thought desirable, to have you two physicians get in touch with Dr. Stickley and possibly arrange for the examination of Mr. However, I am only offering this as a suggestion as you and Mr^Feningham after fully discussing it will, of course, reach'your ovai conclusions as to the best course to pursue under the circumstances. I realize that there are always chances in the handling of a situation of this character. If you do examine Mr. he may be very much impressed with the notion that unless you suspectec that his condition might be due to Ethyl Gasoline that you wouldn't go to such trouble. On the other hand, if you didn't examine him and arything serious should happen, some physician may have diagnosed his condition as due to Ethyl Gasoline and present a claim therefor supported by symptoms which it may be difficult to counteract, particularly when you and/or the Indiana Company's doctor had not made a physical examination of him.
