Bud Hall (Conoco), S. Williams (Haskell Laboratories), M. Johnson (B. F. Goodrich), and myself. The committee is to organize research and review literature that pertains to the evaluation of pyrrolysis toxicity for PVC.. Major decisions were as follows: 1. Southwest Research Institute (San Antonio) will be asked to develop study protocols that evaluate PVC pyrrolysis toxicity in rodents and primates; tissues to be studied will include the respiratory tract, cardiovascular system, and the liver. tion of hydrochloric acid will also be determined 2. Dr. S. Williams will prepare a critique paper on the Dyer-Edch report that alledges a fireman's death was due to pyrrolysis products of PVC. 3. A recommendation will be made to the Society of Plastic Industries (SPI) to fund a feasibility study for conducting an epidemiology survey of firemen.
