Introduction.................................................................................................................. 4 II.Inspection Activity Summary ...................................................................................... 4 Introduction On November 14, 2022, EPA inspectors Dean Maraldo, Joan Rogers, and Ted Flatebo, conducted a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) reconnaissance inspection in the City of Cahokia Heights and observed four chronic SSO locations to document whether they were discharging or had evidence of recent discharges. There had not been any rain within the last 24 hours before the observations. The last rainfall recorded at the St. Louis Downtown Airport (KCPS) in St. Clair County was 2.27" between October 25, 2022 and October 26, 2022. This trip report summarizes the inspection observations. The following personnel were involved in the inspection: EPA Inspectors: Dean Maraldo, Inspector/Enforcement Officer Joan Rogers, Inspector/Enforcement Officer Ted Flatebo, Inspector/Enforcement Officer Inspection Activity summary Location #1: Lauralee Drive and Violet Drive Lift Station EPA inspectors arrived at the Lauralee Drive and Violet Drive Lift Station at 1:33 P.M. The lift station was not overflowing. The lift station was not secured. Location #2: Lady of Snows Lift Station EPA inspectors arrived at the Lady of Snows Lift Station on Old Missouri Avenue at 1:41 P.M. This lift station is #49 in the City of Cahokia Heights lift station list. The lift station was not overflowing, and the wet well was not secured. EPA also observed that the water level in the marsh area to the northeast of the lift station was low. Location #3: Lift Station #57 EPA inspectors arrived at Lift Station #57 at 1:51 P.M. This lift station is a former Centreville lift station and is located at 4200 Missouri Avenue and is currently known as Cahokia Heights lift station #57. The lift station was not overflowing but EPA observed that the force main pipe inside the wet well was broken and spraying water inside the wet well. This caused the pump to be continuously running. EPA notified the City's sewer department. EPA observed that the fencing around the lift station and the wet well was not secured. 3.
