Although USEPA requested initial submission inventory information by March 11,2002, USEPA stated in its January 9,2002, Federal Register notice that "the public may submit information on any chemical substance at any time." (67 Fed. Reg. 1214 (Jan. 9,2002).) The undersigned is class counsel for those who have asserted claims against E.I. duPont de Nemours and Company ("DuPont") in West Virginia State Court arising from contamination of human drinking water supplies with ammonium perfluorooctanoate (a/k/a "C-8"). In connection with that litigation, the undersigned has received, among other things, copies of the documents relating to the health and environmental effects of C-8 referenced on the attached lists. It is possible that DuPont or the 3M Company may claim confidential business information protection with respect to some of the referenced documents.
