Dear Ms. Beck, Mr. Morris, and Ms. Corado,
I'm know that I'm not the first of [f6 Personal Privacy )'s (PP) friends to write you and your colleagues with his story, but it bears telling again. Drew was a smWbusmes's owner in South Carolina who died because of methylene chloride in the paint stripper he was using.
There's no reason that products containing methylene chloride should be on the market and I urge you to reconsider the proposed ban (EPA-HQ-OPPT-2016-0231-0001). EPA's website lists the effects of short-term exposure to methylene chloride as "dizziness, incapacitation, and, in some cases, death." Tragically, Drew experienced all three.
There are plenty of alternative products to those that contain this deadly chemical. Drew may not have known that, but he really shouldn't have had to. After all, why would anyone allow something so lethal to be sold in stores?
I look forward to EPA's action on methylene chloride as we continue to share Drew's story.
Best,
Chris
