Wear proper eye protection. In case of accidental splashing in the eyes, flush with water for 10 minutes and report to the Medical Department. b. Skin Contact. This material Is moderately Irritating to the skin. In case of contact, wash with water . c. Breathing. Fumes or vapors of this material may produce respiratory irritation. Proper protective equipment should be used when high vapor concentrations are encountered. This material is moderately hazardous if swallowed and may cause serious injury if prompt treatment is not applied. In case of accidental swallowing, report to the Medical Department immediately. e. Equipment. Use monogoggles and plastic gloves when handling this material. Have air-supplied mask available for ubc if high vapor concentrations exist. Clean and Inspect containers according to the "Distribution Department Operating Manual". b. Filling equipment and containers must be electrically grounded. c. Fill only in veil ventilated areas. d. Be sure equipment is clean before and after each filling operation. e. Be sure safety equipment is available such as goggles, face masks, safety shover, eye bath, fire extinguishers, etc. L. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES a. Spillage. ThiB material is a gas under normal conditions. In case of accidental leakage, call the supervisor. Avoid sparks or flames. This saterial Is highly flammable and if ignited a fire or explosion could result. b. Fire. Turn in fire alarm. Extinguishing agents: 1. Smother type - carbon dioxide, dry chemicals, or foam. 2. Dilution type - water is the best extinguishing agent. Use spray nozzles to assist In controlling the fire. c. Overheating. 1. If overheating of this material occurs in a shipping container, shut off filling line and turn in fire alarm. 2. Call the supervisor immediately. 3. Fire hoses should be set up at safe distances to cool the hot container and to deluge the contents if rupture should occur. 5. MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION.
