We have received two similar requests for recommendations involving polyvinyl chloride formulations for injection molding automobile steering wheels.
One has come to Bound Brook from our customer ''Swedish Crucible" who will supply Chrysler Corporation. We have three potential PVC compounds which could be used, all based on our QYTQ-7 PVC resin. This is a "prior sanctioned" resin which we use in food contact applications. The formulations of our candidates are as follows:
QYTQ-7 Flexol DGP Flexol EPO Vanstay RRE Stearic Acid Atomite

Almost simultaneously a request came to Tarrytown for recommended PVC resins and Flexol plasticizers to be used for an injection molded automobile steering wheel. The resin of choice would be QYTQ-7 and the preferred plasticizers would be Flexol DQP, Flexol 1010 and Flexol EPO.
Te would appreciate your comments regarding use of these products in steering wheels with respect to possible skin reaction from long-term contact. Your opinion will probably be passed on to our respective customers.
