Office of the Administrator 1101A Washington, DC 20460 Dear Administrator Pruitt, The Southern Crop Production Association is an independent, regional trade association composed of basic manufacturers, formulators, and resellers of crop production inputs. Our members are involved with crop protection, seeds, biotechnology and traits, seed treatment, and biologic market segments. We represent sixteen southern, southwestern and mid-Atlantic states. Our geography extends from Texas and Oklahoma eastward to Florida and northward to Delaware and Maryland. Our association works very closely with state and local legislators and regulators to assist in obtaining fair and balanced legislation and regulations for our industry. On May 3rd and 4th, our association will be in Washington DC for our annual congressional visits. We hope to bring meaningful, local perspective in the development of our national policies and regulations. On Wednesday, May 3rd, our Executive Committee, along with executives from CropLife America would like to set up an appointment to meet with you and your staff. Our visit coincides closely with the completion of the first 100 days of the Trump Administration. We feel the time is right to have substantive conversation regarding the next steps towards meaningful regulatory reform in trying to feed our nation and beyond. There are many issues facing agriculture in rural America. Using sound science in the development of water policy, the Endangered Species Act and pesticide registration is critical for the success of America's farmers. We consider farmers to be the ultimate environmentalist and stewards of our land and natural resources. We would appreciate the opportunity to have open communication and dialogue with the EPA on issues related to our industry and the crop production community. Is there a time that we can meet with you on May the 3rd? Thank you, in advance, for your consideration of this meeting request and for your efforts to protect our environment. I look forward to hearing back from you soon Sincerely, Jeff Cassady Executive Vice President Southern Crop Production Association jeff.cassady@southcrop.org (336) 255-1164 cen (336) 394-4871 office 17cv1906 Sierra Club v.
