On behalf of the Portland Cement Association (PCA), I am pleased to invite you to speak at the 2019 IEEEIAS/PCA Cement Conference on Wednesday, May 1 at the St. Louis Convention Center in St. Louis, MO during the PCA-sponsored morning session. During the morning session, Tom Beck, CEO of Continental Cement Co. and Chairman of the PCA Board, Ed Sullivan, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist, and Franz U1m, Faculty Director of the MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub, will speak.
The 2019 IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Industry Technical Conference will be held in the St, Louis Convention Center, April 28 - May 2, 2019. The address of the St. Louis Convention Center is 701 Convention Plaza, St. Louis, MO, 63101. This is the largest conference in the cement industry and will include presentations of the latest technology covering a variety of topics important to the industry. Attendees at the conference include PCA member company CEOs, senior member company environmental representatives, and member company technical staff.
Founded in 1916, PCA is the widely-recognized authority on the technology, economics, and applications of cement and concrete. The association advocates for sustainability, economic growth, sound infrastructure investment, and overall innovation and excellence in construction. The Portland Cement Association represents 92 percent of U.S. cement production capacity that has facilities in all 50 states. The Cement and concrete product manufacturing indirectly employs approximately 500,000 people in our country, and our collective industries contribute approximately $100 billion to our economy.
As the second most consumed product on Earth, behind water, it is critical that our industry maintain high environmental standards. IEEE attendees would appreciate hearing about your current and long term goals for the Office of Air & Radiation at EPA. In particular, members would like to hear about EPA's efforts on New Source Review reform, Ozone/PM NAA http://emissionmonitoring.com/QS and NAAQS reform, climate change, and other regulatory reform efforts.
