We believe tlun LP-V.s most important job is to lead the Nation to improve the qualm oi the Nation's water, working well with state, locai and conservation groups in partnership to do so. f am sute you agree that theie remains a lot of work to do to clean tip the Nation's uuterways,
II <"> mission is to conserve, protect and restore America's trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. I outided tit 1lAcb 11' has long supported the L lean Water Act as the backbone of the Nation's water quality eHurls. <)ur local chapters and state councils have used the Clean Water Act to protect and restore their local home waters. As 7 l.' has evolved, we have added professional staff who have worked with FPA resources, .sudi as its Section 314 nonpoint source funds, and its Small Watershed program funds. 1'sing modest TPA funds, we have leveraged additional funds io restore .streams and rivets across the 17S . from brook trout streams in the uppei Potomac in West Virginia to cutthroat streams in the upper Colorado River in Colorado. In short we have enjoyed a long and successili) partnership with faPA.
We would like tu continue that partnership and take advantage of opportunities piov idei! by the 7 rump Administration and Congress, such as vieamng streams and rivers polluted by abandoned coal and hardrock mine waste, and upgrading the Nation's watci nfiastrnctuic. I low ever, these efforts are threatened In the I tump Administration's proposed budget cuts and the initiative to icpeal and icplace the 1 lean Water Rule. We would deeply appicciate the chance to have a good dtscu-Moji with von about the opportunities and risks that lie ahead ol us
