Since then, the QAPP's release has been pushed back to July 2018. What led to that delay? We did not change the release date. EPA has completed a quality assurance project plan, which will guide our analysis of data collected during the National Air Emissions Monitoring Study as we develop these methodologies. We anticipate publishing a schedule for the development o f these methodologies by July 2018. We have talked with residents and environmental organization representatives in the Missouri area and some have expressed concerns that the EPA is working to reduce regulations for CAFOs rather than add regulations. How would the EPA respond to that concern? "We will continue to partner with the agriculture community, America's first conservationists, to protect the environment." --EPA Spokesperson O n background: EPA has created a website with guidance on this issue. I reached out to you a few months ago with some questions about the EPA's actions regarding the current lack of regulations for CAFOs under the Clean Air Act. Below are a few additional questions that have come up during the reporting process: 1. Originally, you stated that the Quality Assurance Project Plan was on schedule to be completed in April 2018. Since then, the QAPP's release has been pushed back to July 2018. What led to that delay? Sierra Club v. How would the EPA respond to that concern? I am sending you these questions to provide an opportunity for fair response from the EPA to residents and environmental organization representatives in the Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting's article prior to publication. The deadline for this fair response is Friday, April 27. Thank you, Morgan Niezing Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA Tier 13 ED 002061 00015695-00002
