WCF Releases Digital Ad on Wildfire Prevention
This week, the Western Caucus Foundation announced a new digital ad on pending legislation by Senate Western Caucus Chairman Senator Steve Daines (MT) and Congressional Western Caucus Vice Chairman Rep. LaMalfa (CA-1) that will help prevent forest fires. "The Foundation is advancing a communications effort to educate policy makers and the public on the need for legislation to enable the U.S. Forest Service and other federal land agencies to further reduce the threat of wildfire to communities and watersheds," said Darrell Henry, Executive Director of the Western Caucus Foundation.

This legislation sponsored by Senator Daines and Rep. LaMalfa ( S. 4431) , will institute better land management practices in our national forests, parks, and other federally managed lands and would help advance necessary forest management projects in a timely and responsible manner to prevent future catastrophic wildfires.
Sen. Daines Testifies on Wildfire Protection Bill
On Thursday, Senator Daines testified at the Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests, and Mining hearing on his pending Emergency Wildfire and Public Safety Act. We urge the committee and rest of the Senate for swift passage of this bipartisan forest management legislation to prevent devastating wildfires in our communities.

On Thursday, September 17th, WCF held a Digital Connect Forum on our Public Lands. Our forum included a discussion on modernizing the LWCF, and restoring the promise of public lands. Hosted by Western Caucus Chair Paul Gosar, we were also joined by ranking member Rob Bishop (UT-01), and Sublette County commissioner Joel Bousman from Wyoming, along with D.L. Wilson, Supervisor from La Paz county in Arizona.
Senator Steve Daines and Senator Cory Gardner were instrumental in passing the Great American Outdoors Act -- it was a herculean effort. Western Caucus wants to continue the efforts to provide greater access to the great outdoors and to maintain our public lands.
If you missed our forum, you can watch it on our Facebook page.
