EPA ED_001523B_00004059-00001 Sam Hammons has spent over 40 years in the energy arena, most recently assisting start-up and existing energy companies develop and implement energy-related projects and strategies. He currently serves as an Advisory Director to Alcor Energy Solutions, Mesa, Arizona, owns and operates Gas2 Power, LLC, Sequoyah Information Systems, Ltd. and Sequoyah Capital, LLC. He chairs Express PAC, a nation-wide political action committee focused on business issues. Until retiring from private law practice in 1996, he founded and served as President of Hammons, Vaught & Conner, a P.C. His practice involved energy-related contracts, and transactions, including international transactions, as well as energy litigation. Prior to entering private practice he owned and operated Clinton Gas Transmission, one of the nation's earliest natural gas marketing companies. He was a partner in the Resource Analysis & Management Group of Oklahoma City where he managed the Natural Gas Contracts Division. Prior to joining the RAM Group, he was the Director of the Oklahoma Department of Energy while serving on the Governor's Cabinet. From 1974-1980 he served as Administrative Assistant for Energy and Natural Resources to Governor David Boren (later Oklahoma's U.S. Senator and currently the President of the University of Oklahoma) and then in the same position for Governor George Nigh. Mr. Hammons presented testimony before Congressional Committees as well as state legislative bodies. For six years Mr. Hammons served as Oklahoma's Official Representative to the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, which is the Congressionally-chartered organization that monitors oil and gas production in the various producing states. He has also served as Chairman of the Energy Council of the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the 17-state Southern States Energy Board based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has authored numerous publications and appeared frequently on television and radio as a commentator on energy matters. A graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, Hammons later received a Masters of Arts as well as a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Hammons has served on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma State Chamber and twice was elected chairman of Oklahoma Baptist University Board of Trustees.
