Co., 180 Wn.2d 793, 329 P.3d 50 (2014): a trial court abuses its discretion where it permits discovery that could be potentially prejudicial to a party in third party lawsuits, particularly where the party seeking discovery has no urgent need for it. The Washington Supreme Court granted discretionary review and reversed the trial court and intermediate appellate court orders, noting the discovery at issue was potentially "injurious" to Expedia's interests in the eighty lawsuits it was separately defending.
