These are my available dates prior to the Dec 16 meeting: Dec 6,7 (I might also be available on Dec 2,8,9, but I would prefer Dec 6 or 7) SH ELL-MCCLU RG-057035 Stuart Cagen Shell Chemical LP One Shell Plaza, 91 0 Louisiana, Houston, TX 77002-4916 Tel: +1 713241 1407 Fax: +1 713241 3325 Other Tel: +1 8326463987 Email: stuart.cagen@shell.com Internet: http://www.shell.com/chemicals -----Original Message----From: michael.g.bird@exxonmobil.com [mailto:michael.g.bird@exxonmobil.com] Sent: Monday, November 22, 2004 12:00 PM To: Cagen, Stuart Z SCC-CF-SS Subject: RE: BHRC Technical committee Michael G Bird To: "Beatty, Patrick (PatrickBeatty)" <PatrickBeatty@chevrontexaco.com>, <szcagen@SheII.Com> 11/21/0411 :53 AM cc: <jarnotb@api.org> Subject: RE: BHRC Technical committee(Document link: Michael G Bird) On Friday afternoon (11/19), I sat in on a review by EMBSI management of the EMBSI contract/involvement in the SHS. There were few issues identified that as a Tech Committee member I was not aware, however I came away with a much greater appreciation of the EA aspects of the study and operational aspects which impact other study components and in particular gained insight as to the needs and benefits of achieving quantitative exposure assessment for the DP and CC. Also the current lack of success of obtaining bone marrow for ME 2B and likely reasons for this. I think the BHRC Tech Committee would benefit from hearing this directly from Tom, Yimei and Rob. Richard Irons tends to represent and focus on the lab Iclinical aspects that's his expertise after all - but with the above EA input, I think the Tech Committee will do a much better assessment of what can be achieved, and $$'s needed, based on the 2 years of study experience. I recommend that we have a conference call (or meeting) with the EA team additional to any visit to Denver and to do this, as soon as possible and before the next Oversight committee on December 12th. My intent is not to exclude Irons as PI - he could participate too - but I believe that our time as a committee focussing on the EA aspect (eg impact on the CC study) with the EA team would be enormously valuable, would provide a better basis for further discussions with the PI's, and for meeting the Oversight committee's expectations. Please call if you want to discuss further or if I can help in convening the above. Michael SH ELL-MCCLU RG-057036 Michael G.
