During a meeting with you last June, you shared with several of us from the agriculture community the importance you attach to helping the American public understand the vital role the Environmental Protection Agency plays in protecting health and safety. This commitment to risk communication is inspiring to the members of CropLife America (CLA)--who rely upon the credibility and integrity of the EPA's regulatory process. Given this shared interest, I would like to cordially invite you to speak to the CLA Board of Directors during our Winter Board Meeting.
Our members, representing the nation's largest agricultural chemical manufacturers and distributors, value the opportunity for meaningful dialogue with your agency. We are working cooperatively with your agency to secure EPA funding under the Pesticide Reauthorization and Improvement Act; we are working collaboratively with the NGO community and the interagency task force on improving the administration of the federal Endangered Species Act, and we share a mutual interest in the integrity and efficiency of the pesticide registration process. For all these reasons, we hope that you will accept our invitation to speak.
Our Winter Board meeting will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, VA. We would like you to speak at our Board and Allies dinner at 7:30 PM. You are welcome to join us for our reception that begins at 6:30 PM. We anticipate approximately 120 people will attend the dinner including members of our Board of Directors, our Strategic Oversight Council, and key staff and agricultural industry allies. There will be no press in attendance. You'll find a listing of our Board of Directors and Strategic Oversight Council attached for your review.
