Appropriations House to Hurry Through $36.5 Billion in Hurricane, Wildfire Aid The House will fast-track a $36.5 billion disaster aid package to help areas devastated by recent hurricanes and wildfires. House Republican leaders plan to bring the aid package to the floor Oct. 12 under expedited procedures that won't allow amendments, and to pass it after a quick debate. The bill would provide federal relief for Puerto Rico and other stormravaged areas, as well as aid for states affected by wildfires like California.
