Breyley, Manager Safety and Workers' Compensation One General Street Akron, OH 44329 RE: Mr. William Price CC# 1-224-826-1 Dear Mr. Breyley: This letter is regarding the Workers' Compensation Claim of Mr. William Price. There seems to be some confusion regarding my role in Mr. Price's therapy. Mr. Price underwent right hepatic lobectomy for an angiosarcoma of the liver on August 16, 1983. This procedure was performed by Dr. Vogt. After a rather complicated postoperative course, I was consulted as a Medical Oncologist in order to discuss the issue of adjuvant chemotherapy with Mr. Price. After a discussion of the risks and benefits of such therapy with Mr. Price, it was decided that no further treatment would be given. Thus, I never administered any treatment at all to Mr. Price. Since his diagnosis, I have seen Mr. Price periodically for follow-up exami nations, looking specifically for a recurrence of his malignancy. Fortunately, no such recurrence has been found:, Mr. Price has complained of vague abdominal pains and easy fatigue ability, dating from his surgical procedure. I did refer Mr. Price, at his request, to Upjohn Healthcare Services for a rehabilitation program. Although my examinations have been rather brief and focused on the presence or absence of evidence of recurrent malignancy, I would think that Mr. Price could be rehabilitated in order to allow some type of sedentary employment. 1 think that a more thorough examination should be performed by one more knowledgeable in rehabilitation medicine than I, if this is to be determined definitively. I last saw Mr. Price on August 10, 1987, and my previous visit with him was one year prior to that. He will continue to come here at approximately yearly intervals, or as needed. Please let me know if I can be of any further help to you or Mr. Price. WORKER'S COMPSlCATlOJt EOT. 6EMC 002301 Mr. Kenneth P.
