Alandra Byrd, the coordinator for Operation New Spirit, listed each of the 17 plots, their locations and sizes. As we discussed, this group would like to receive Roundup donations once again this year. They have not yet planted crops, but hope to do so the first or second week in May, so they would like to receive the Roundup as soon as possible. This year, Americorps volunteers are helping East St. Louis residents to prepare and plant the crops. As you will recall, we received good publicity for Monsanto's donations in past years. With the corporation's emphasis on sustainable systems, this project, aimed at helping East St. Louis to rejuvenate itself, is a good fit. The Krummrich plant will also be donating $10,000 to Operation New Spirit for demolition of derelict structures in the area. As both of these donations will take place in the next few weeks, we are working with New Spirit to get some publicity. Thanks for agreeing to help.
