Dear Mr. Bernhardt:
On behalf of Safari Club International (SCI), I would like to invite you to speak at the Wildlife Law Continuing Legal Education course we will be hosting in Washington, D.C. on Friday, November 2, 2018. SCI would be honored to have you join us and speak to the attorneys in the audience about the work that the Department of the Interior is currently doing pertaining to the regulations and implementation of the laws that affect hunting, conservation and the management of wildlife.
Although Safari Club International has hosted a continuing legal education course for lawyers at our annual Convention for the last 11 years, we have never held one in Washington, D.C. before. We believe that our course is the only one in the country that focuses entirely on the laws, regulations, policies and case law pertaining to the sustainable use of wildlife.
Our course at our Convention each year is attended by attorneys from around the country and on occasion some from outside the United States. We work with state bar Continuing Legal Education departments in all states represented by attendees to obtain continuing legal education credit for all attorneys who need it. Over the years, we have provided legal education to attorneys from over 30 different states. With this new course in Washington, D.C. we hope to bring in practitioners from private firms as well as state and federal agencies and to expand our course to a larger and broader audience.
The presentations we will offer at our course on November 2nd will include an overview of the laws pertaining to sustainable use of wildlife; an update on recent hunting and sustainable-use related litigation; an introduction to the CITES treaty; a discussion of the interaction between state and federal wildlife management laws; a criminal law overview; an hour of professional ethics training; and a game of Wildlife Law Jeopardy.
We are hosting this course with assistance from a financial grant from the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. We will charge attendees a reasonable fee for the 8.0 hours of CLE credit they will earn for the

course. The course will be held from 8:00 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. at the National Union Building, 918 F Street NW, Washington, D.C.
If you can join us, we would be most grateful if you could speak to our attendees for 20 to 30 minutes. If you would prefer to speak on a topic other than the one referenced above, we will be happy to accommodate you. If and when you can accept our invitation to speak, with your permission, we will include your name in the agenda of presenters that will be distributed to those attending the course.
