Reason: Provided CBI warning to facility The following information was obtained verbally from Gold Standard Baking Inc. unless otherwise noted. Company Ownership: Gold Standard Baking Inc. was purchased by 29 Parallel in 2015 but did not result in any operational changes. Process Description: Gold Standard Baking Inc. (GS Baking) operates a commercial bakery. Raw materials including flour, yeast, sugar, etc. are delivered by truck and stored into silos before being piped into mixers, mixed, cut, proofed, baked, and packaged. GS Baking operates four process lines to create two different yeast-dough products. Staff Interview: GS Baking currently has approximately 275 employees and typically operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. However, GS Baking currently operates 24 hours per day, five days per week because production has decreased due to the Covid-19 pandemic. GS Baking operates four process lines: #1, #2, #3, and #5. Lines #1 and #2 vent to atmosphere. Lines #3 and #5 vent to a catalytic oxidizer that was installed in 2016. The catalytic oxidizer was rebuilt in 2020 and the catalyst was replaced. GS Baking stated that the catalyst internal set is replaced every 3-5 years. Temperature charts are recorded for the catalytic oxidizer weekly. Each line has an associated printer for printing labels. All emissions from printing are vented directly to the room. Refrigeration units use a variety of refrigerants including, R-134, R-407, R410, and R-22.
