We have already received commitments from a couple of senator's offices and the senate finance committee to place a Baucus Intern this summer and I thought you might be interested in discussing whether it might make sense for your office. We would provide a living stipend for the student, so no expense on your end.
Please let me know if you're willing to discuss.
Best,

Aurelia, so nice talking with you today. Thanks again for making the time. As promised, below is a description of the Baucus Institute and our Baucus Fellows Program. I'm looking forward to working with you on this.
The Max S. Baucus Institute (Institute) is a nonpartisan public policy institute located within the Alexander Blewett III School of Law at the University of Montana. The mission of the Institute is to act as a non-partisan public policy center that brings together leaders in the fields of academia, government, law, and business in a setting devoted to cooperation rather than opposition. The Institute provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and the development of evidence-based solutions to the public policy challenges facing Montana, the United States, and the world.
The Institute will have four areas of focus: (1) "Tomorrow's Leaders" (training and providing internship and other opportunities to students and professionals who want to devote their careers to public service); (2) "Last Best Place" (actively participating in efforts to strike an appropriate balance between preserving Montana's natural resources for future generations and supporting responsible utilization of those resources for the economic benefit of Montanans); (3) "Global Engagement" (ensuring Montana students have opportunities to engage with the wider world); and (4) "Economic Development" (supporting work that benefits the Montana economy and provides opportunities for our citizens to live and work in Montana).
Among other initiatives, the Institute will provide several different avenues for Montana college students (both undergraduate and graduate) to gain leadership experience and engage with diverse local and global communities through initiatives such as the Baucus Fellows Program and the Baucus Institute Comparative law Summer Study Abroad Program. Extending the commitment to public service demonstrated by Ambassador Baucus over the past forty years, the Baucus Fellows Program will bring Montana college students to Washington, D.C. to intern with federal agencies, legislative bodies, and nongovernmental organizations to engage with issues that they might not otherwise have exposure to. The students will then bring these learnings back to Montana to inform their educational and vocational choices.
Please let me know if I can provide any more information.
Warm regards,
Sam
