1. Issue the new employee a copy of Texas Division Safety Rules and the Texas Division Safety Policy.
2. See that the new employee has a copy of the Texas Division General Plant Safety rules.
3. Issue hard hat and monogoggles, explain eye protection rule .(TDSR c.3 and 4). Explain
smoking rules and areas if needed (TDSR E.9). Explain about rings in work areas.
4. Issue respiratory equipment. Demonstrate the correct method for use. Have the new employee practice using the respiratory equipment. Arrange for further respiratory training.
5. Emergency signals - issue hat sticker. Explain the use of horns, testing times (Texas Division Emergency Procedure).
6. Show employee seizure phone location. Explain the use of horns, testing times (Texas Division Emergency Procedure).
7. Inform the new employee of the departmental SAFETY performance and record. Impress new employee with respect everyone must have for the many chemicals handled.
8. Issue copy of Dow Chemical Safety and Loss Prevention "Minimum Requirements".
