Bill- thank you RE: EPA RE: Josh, Thankyou
Bill Wehrum
USEPA/OAR
Dear Bill, Congratulations again on your appointment, and thank you so very much for taking time this morning from your hectic schedule to have a conversation.
I appreciate your offer and will get back to you with the top 1-2-3 things EPA might consider doing to advance healthy schools - on little or no new money.
For starters, it does not cost EPA anything to have its logo (or an appropriate program logo) on the NationalHealthySchoolsDay.org website. CDC is already there.
For those partners with logos on the site, we ask them to actively promote the day and a relevant topic, e.g., via blog or messaging, highlighting informational tools, or a webinar. All are fairly easy.
Again, I was glad to have the opportunity to share our thoughts and our strong interest in seeing EPA have the resources to expand its proven, unique work on healthy school environments for all children.
EPA has helped local schools save money and avoid the need for major remediation over the years. I hope it will continue to do so, particularly now, post Parkland, FL, when schools are under pressure to modify facilities for security reasons.
Thank you, and I promise I will get back to you with two more easy things.

Josh, Jon, Thankyou again so very much for setting up the Friday meeting. I was delighted that Bill stopped in to shake hands and say hello. In fact I think we did meet years ago during his prior time at EPA. Please let Bill know I look forward to having productive call this coming week. There is truly no better time for a constructive federal partnership agenda that resonates with all communities. In advance I will forward the sequence of materials I had planned to hand to Bill. Given the short time, I thought it would be better for me to get them prefaced and organized for him. I look forward to working with you and everyone at EPA towards healthier kids and healthier schools. Best- Claire Claire Barnett Healthy Schools Network
