Secretary Wright,
Congratulations on an impressive first few months at DOE. I am writing to you today on behalf of Titanium Technologies, the global leader in titanium dioxide production, housed under The Chemours Company. We have greatly valued our partnership with the Department of Energy and appreciate the work that the Department is doing to unleash American energy.
As described in the attached letter, Chemours has yet to receive a response regarding an application submitted 18 months ago to FECM's Critical Materials Innovation, Efficiency. and Alternatives funding opportunity. If Chemours does not receive a decision from DOE on the grant, we will be forced to delay our Gallium prioritization. This will likely result in a 12 month or longer delay in the ability for Chemours to produce the first primary Gallium in America since 1987.
I appreciate your consideration and welcome additional conversation on this matter.
