PAM detections accounted for over half of the total dolphin sightings/detection reports. However, only 3% of the acoustic detections made identified a specific dolphin species. The majority of this small percentage is due to the PSO visually confirming the acoustic detection. The frequency of sightings and acoustic detections are proportional regardless of whether the source is active. The data indicates source status (active or silent) had no impact on dolphin bow-riding. The number of dolphins observed when the source was silent was proportional to when the source was active.
