The negative consequences of a shortage, real or imagined, are many and will be costly for consumers and industry. Information shared with me by the pipeline industry indicates one pipeline company alone supplies 47% of the gasoline and diesel consumed in Kansas. Of that 47%, 15% is sourced from areas affected by the storm. With current estimates predicting some refineries will not receive adequate oil supplies for full production until sometime next week or later we will experience a significant decrease in reserves. Increasing the RVP should have little effect on engine performance especially considering the 10 day weather forecast for Kansas does not predict extremely high temperatures. Additionally with the cooler late summer temperatures the impact on air quality should be minimal as well. Please consider this request and forward to anyone else who should see it.
