My comments are directed solely at the hazard warnings portion of the labels. Use of trade names or product identifications, etc. should be approved by Ron Swantkowski in our Houston office. There are multiple inconsistencies with our hazard assessment of these products and subsequent label warning content, and some CAS number listings. The obvious discrepancies, and in some cases errors, in the hazard warnings have been noted on the attached labels that you sent for review. There was consistent mention of dust in the labels for the higher carbon range alcohols. Although they may be solid at room temperature, the potential for exposure to a dust is, in our experience, virtually non-existent. In our opinion, this warning is inaccurate and not reflective of use conditions. For your information, I have also enclosed copies of our drum labels for these products. These labels are for OSHA purposes only. They do not contain DOT information. It is our intent to provide appropriate and realistic warnings on our product labels based on our hazard determinations.
