Biographies of Our Speakers Andrew Bishop Andrew Bishop, Senior Partner and global head of policy research at Signum Global Advisors, is an established political analyst with a 15-year track record of advising institutional investors, corporates and governments on political risks in developed, emerging, and frontier markets. Andrew is also head of Signum's Washington, D.C. office. Andrew joined Signum from Eurasia Group where he served as Deputy Head of Research and was also a Director in the firm's Global Macro practice. Prior to that, Andrew was a senior manager in the World Economic Forum's strategic foresight and risk analysis unit, during which he regularly participated in the organization's annual meeting in Davos. Andrew is a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Munich Security Conference Young Leader, and an alumnus of the Atlantik-Bruecke. He received his Sierra Club v. Sir Alex Younger Sir Alex was appointed as a Regional Advisor in July 2021, to advise on strategic matters and to help clients worldwide better understand the environment in which they operate. Alex retired from government after completing six years as the Chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service, MI6, and thirty years as a foreign intelligence professional. His background gives him different insights on the geo-political environment, the disruptive effects of emerging technologies, cyber and digital resilience, crisis management and the practical, cultural and ethical challenges of leading and transforming a complex and risk bearing global organisation. Earlier in his career, he spent several years in the Scots Guards. He was Knighted in the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours list for services to national security. Alex holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from the University of St Andrews. Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani, CFA Sharmin is head of the Investment Strategy Group and chief investment officer for Wealth Management, responsible for the overall strategic asset allocation and tactical investment strategy. Sharmin joined Goldman Sachs as a partner in 1993. Prior to joining the firm, Sharmin worked at Fidelity Management Trust Company, where she was chief investment officer for all separate and co-mingled fixed income accounts. Sharmin is a member of the Board of Trustees and the Digital Transformation Committee of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Harvard University's Global Advisory Board. She is a former member of the Board of Trustees, and former chair of the Investment Committee of the Trinity School in New York City. Sharmin has published two books, one on bond indexing and one on OPEC natural gas, as well as numerous articles on portfolio management issues. Sharmin earned a BA from Princeton University and an MS from Stanford University.
