Andrew, on background, please:
1. --Is there a different public body in the US that does have a public searchable database? [something like the Health Canada one]
Response: The California Department o f Pesticide Regulation has a public, searchable database for pesticide incidents within the state: http://apps.cdpr.ca.gov/calpiq/.
You can request information on pesticide poisoning incidents from The National Pesticide Information Center, a cooperative agreement between EPA and Oregon State University. Its database not searchable by the public. http: / /npic.orst.edu /
Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA
Tier 13
ED 002061 00014402-00001
The American Association o f Poison Control Centers' National Poison Data System publishes an annual report with searchable tables o f reported poisonings. The 2016 Annual Report is available at https://aapcc.s3.ama2onaws.com/pdls/annual reports/12 21 2017 2016 Annua.pdf
2. --Did the EPA previously have a public searchable database, but no longer does?
Response: EPA has never had a public, searchable database o f pesticide incidents.
3. --What would be the estimated turnaround time on the FOIA request for data on incident reports for a pesticide?
Response: Federal agencies are required to respond to a FOIA request within twenty working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. The twenty-day period does not begin until the request is received by the Agency and identify the records you are seeking and have an agreement to pay fees or a fee waiver has been granted. The Agency may extend the response time for an additional ten working days when all conditions are met.

Hello Robert, Following up on this email exchange from two months ago - is there a date when EPA will announce the advisory panels members? I see online that the nomination period seems to have ended yesterday. Thanks for any info you can provide - I'm working on arranging coverage of the event.
Best wishes, Andrew

Response: EPA has received reports of lepidopteran resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) in the US, mostly from academic scientists. The Agency has since identified several risk factors that likely underlie these cases of resistance as well as several challenges with monitoring and confirming resistance that delayed detection and reporting of resistance. Learn more here:Federal Register Notice about the factors that underlie these cases and about the upcoming meeting:

Subject: Media inquiry - background on FIFRA SAP on Lepidopteran resistance to Bt
Hello,
I'm a freelance journalist who covers science and agriculture, and am interested in learning more about the
scientific advisory panel meeting scheduled for July to discuss the problem of resistance to Bt crops that is
increasingly observed in agricultural pests.
I'm curious about the decision to convene this panel - is there a particular study or other event that has prompted EPA to take this step? Or is it simply something that happens periodically to review the state of Bt resistance and consider any changes that may be needed to improve pest management and delay resistance? Some other motivation?
Thanks for any assistance you can offer, Andrew Jenner
