Hello,
I am fact-checking a short piece about coral-safe sunscreens for the January/February 2018 issue of AAA Washington's magazine, Journey.
First, am I correct that it would be in the EPA's purview to set standards on ingredients in sunscreens related to environmental impacts? If so, I'm hoping to confirm two things:
1. Currently there are no standards set by the EPA for sunscreens claim ing to be "coral safe" or "reef safe." Accurate?
2. N o standards for "coral safe" or "reef safe" sunscreens are anticipated in the near future-at least through February o f 2018. Accurate?
Thanks for your help. I'm hoping it will be convenient for you to respond by end of day Monday, Oct. 9, so I can meet my deadline.
Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss this |______ E x - 6 ______ j The magazine's policy doesn't allow me to release unpublished copy, but I can read through the relevant information with you over the phone to give you more context.
