Pickle Federal Building 300 East 8th Street Austin, TX 78701 Dear Senator Cruz: Thank you for your email dated February 20, 2025, regarding your constituent's inquiry about the Home Energy Rebate programs. I am responding on behalfof U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, since the Office of State and Community Energy Programs stewards the rebate programs. Your constituent, who is a content author for Sears Home Services, asked if the High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate (HEEHR) program, one of the two Home Energy Rebate programs, will be moving forward. The Department of Energy has been in the process of reviewing aspects of all programs and all of its grants to ensure alignment with the Administration's priorities as set out in various Executive Orders, including E.O. 14222, which requires that all grants promote efficiency and advance the policies of the Administration as consistent with applicable law. We appreciate your patience while this review is underway. Questions regarding your state's rebate program, timeline, or eligibility criteria are best directed to your State Energy Office, Texas State Energy Conservation Office (SECO). If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me or Shawn Affolter, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office ofCongressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at (202) 5860393.
