Dear Howard,
At the last meeting of our Committee, we learned that Jessie Norris was taking over for you, and I believe our welcome was cordial, even warm. Ve are sure that she will be a fine addition to our Committee.
Nevertheless, the loss, for now, has to be greater than our gain. Experience is not an immediately replaceable commodity and yours is exceedingly broad. Having worked on many other environmental aspects of our modern-day civilization, you brought to the Com mittee a balance and understanding that aided greatly in many of our decisions.
I do not know your plans for the future, but suggest just that much participation in our business world as will make you happy. I am sure your opinion will still be solicited frequently but all work is not retirement. I, personally, am looking forward to the happy state at which you have arrived.
Howard, I wish you the very best of health and happiness in the years to come; for me, the associa tion has been pleasant and rewarding.
Sincerely,
VAK:md
