Title of the Event: Safari Club International Annual Convention In particular, we are hoping that Secretary Zinke will attend and speak at the Saturday evening banquet at the Convention on February 3, 2018.

Briefly describe the event in detail, and the desired outcome of the Secretary's participation (is this an annual event or part of a breakout session): The SCI Convention is an annual event, open only to Safari Club International members and special invited guests. On average, approximately 15,000 - 25,000 attendees visit over the four days of the Convention. On the Convention floor, vendors of hunts, firearms, hunting equipment, books, jewelry, wine, crafts etc. display and sell their products. The event also hosts many educational seminars, and meetings of affiliated groups and SCI committees. The banquets include presentations of awards to SCI members, recognition of U.S. federal and international legislators, and entertainment (e.g. musical bands, comedians, celebrity speakers)

Audience (expected attendance and makeup of the attendees): As mentioned above, the Convention generally draws between 15,000 - 25,000 attendees (SCI members and invited guests only) over the course of the four days. The banquets are generally attended by up to 2,350 SCI members and specially invited guests.
How is this event being advertised (i.e. is it open to the public, members only, etc.)? SCI's Convention is advertised on the SCI website and in publications to the hunting community, but attendance is open only to SCI members and specially invited guests.
VIPs invited: At present, for the Saturday night banquet, SCI has invited Chris Cox of the National Rifle Association, who will be speaking at the banquet. As mentioned above Larry Potterfield of Midway USA or another Midway USA representative will be at the banquet VIPs confirmed: Chris Cox (National Rifle Association of America) has confirmed his attendance and plans to speak at the Saturday night banquet. Larry Potterfield of Midway USA or another Midway USA representative will speak for a few minutes at the banquet.
Remarks (if applicable) Desired length of time for remarks: 15-20 minutes
Are there any specific issues you would like the Secretary to highlight/address in his remarks?
We would very much appreciate if Secretary Zinke would speak about his plans and achievement in providing enhanced opportunities and access for hunters both in the U.S. and worldwide, and his work with SCI to improve hunting, hunter access and the management of wildlife.
What is the desired format of his remarks (will he be delivering the keynote, sharing the stage, a panel, etc)?
The Secretary will be one of two main speakers on Saturday night, but during his remarks, he will have the stage to himself.

The event is not open to the general press, but members of the Outdoor Press may attend. Outdoor Press members must submit press credentials and be approved by SCI in order to attend.

On behalf of Safari Club International (SCI), I cordially invite you to speak at the banquet being held on Saturday, February 3, 2018, in association with SCI's 46th Annual Hunters' Convention taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
