Point of Contact(s): Anna Seidman, Director of Government Affairs, Safari Club International Briefly describe the event in detail, and the desired outcome of the Secretary's participation (is this an annual event or part of a breakout session): The SCI Convention is an annual event, open only to Safari Club International members and special invited guests. On average, approximately 15,000 - 25,000 attendees visit over the four days of the Convention. On the Convention floor, vendors of hunts, firearms, hunting equipment, books, jewelry, wine, crafts etc. display and sell their products. The event also hosts many educational seminars, and meetings of affiliated groups and SCI committees. The banquets include presentations of awards to SCI members, recognition of U.S. federal and international legislators, and entertainment (e.g. musical bands, comedians, celebrity speakers) *Who is the event sponsors: The Saturday evening banquet is sponsored by Midway U.S.A. Who is the event host: The event is hosted by Safari Club International. SCI's Convention is advertised on the SCI website and in publications to the hunting community, but attendance is open only to SCI members and specially invited guests. As mentioned above Larry Potterfield of Midway USA or another Midway USA representative will be at the banquet VIPs confirmed: Chris Cox (National Rifle Association of America) has confirmed his attendance and plans to speak at the Saturday night banquet.
