As we discussed recently, Garlock supplies to our various customers a great number of styles and different type materials that contain Crocodilite asbestos. Exact percentage information is not readily available, and if further information is needed, we would very much appreciate you reviewing the information shown below and clarify if you can the type of material that you are specifically interested in. As stated in my May 17th letter, narrowing the field so to speak would allow us to request inform ation on a limited number of styles or materials from our main plant location and enable us to give you a more prompt and accurate reply. To give you an idea as to some of the materials that contain Crocidolite Asbestos, we list some examples: 1) In compressed asbestos, Garlock Style 7705 is a good example. This material meets both DuPont code S9 in sheet form, and G9 in cut gasket form. 2) In braided packings, Styles 230, 5557, 5298, 5880, & 5881. Style 5557, happens to meet a DuPont code R-43, and our Style 5880 meets DuPont code R-51. 3) In spiral wound gaskets, DuPont codes G-52, 63, 64, 65, and 66 when "blue african asbestos" is specified. 4) Style 8554 and 9026 fillers for TEFLON envelope gaskets. con 1 d DUP 1 1205; GARLOCK INC .
